Copilot · Finance and accounts
Prepares reconciliations and summaries so your accountants start from a draft.
The finance copilot compares your books with GST portal data and bank statements, and drafts reconciliation summaries and month end notes. Your accountants review the differences and decide what to post.
Finance copilot
Prepare the GSTR-2B reconciliation summary for September 2026.
Matched 412 of 438 purchase invoices. 26 need review: 14 missing in 2B (ITC INR 3.8 lakh), 9 with amount differences, 3 with a different GSTIN.
Largest gap: Supplier S-008, Rajkot, 5 invoices worth INR 1.6 lakh ITC not yet filed by the supplier. Their GSTR-1 for September is due on 11 Oct.
Draft a reminder to supplier S-008 and add the summary to the month end note.

How it is done today
The work before the agent
Every month, someone downloads GSTR-2B, exports the purchase register from Tally and matches the two in a spreadsheet, invoice by invoice. Mismatches are chased with suppliers over email and phone. The summary for the CFO is written late on the last evening before filing.
What the finance copilot takes on
GST reconciliation drafts
It matches the purchase register against GSTR-2B by GSTIN, invoice number and amount, and groups the differences: missing, mismatched or filed late by the supplier.
Supplier follow ups
For invoices missing from 2B, it drafts a polite reminder to the supplier with the invoice details, ready for your team to send.
Month end summaries
It writes a short note on what changed this month: input tax credit at risk, large variances, unreconciled bank entries, with links to the rows behind each number.
Questions on the ledger
Accountants can ask, for example, which vendors had TDS deducted at the wrong rate this quarter, and get a list to check.
How the work moves
A typical piece of work, stage by stage
- Step 1Question or taskFrom the finance team
- Step 2Data pulledTally, bank, GST data
- Step 3Checked and comparedAgainst your rules
- Step 4Draft with sourcesEvery figure traceable
- Step 5Accountant signs offBefore anyone acts
Where a person decides
The copilot never posts entries in Tally or files anything on the GST portal. A chartered accountant or finance lead reviews each difference, decides whether to claim or defer credit and signs off the summary, because the filing is their responsibility.
Limits it works within
- Read only access to accounting data unless a person posts the entry
- Shows the source rows behind every figure in a summary
- Sends low confidence matches to a person for review
- Cannot file returns or make payments
- Can run on premise so ledgers stay in your environment

Questions
About the finance copilot
Does it file GST returns?
No. It prepares the reconciliation and the notes. Your team or your CA reviews them and files through the usual process.
We use Tally on a local server. Can it connect?
Yes. We connect through Tally's export or a small connector on your network, and the copilot can be deployed on premise if you prefer.
How accurate is the matching?
Accuracy depends on how clean your invoice data is. Exact matches are marked as such; anything fuzzy is shown for a person to confirm, so nothing is matched silently.

AI for Tally users: what an agent can and cannot do
Most Indian businesses keep their books in Tally, and most of the repetitive accounts work happens around it. An agent helps a Tally team most with reading documents, reconciling and answering questions from the books. It connects through Tally's own interfaces and leaves posting and payments to people.
