Matches supplier invoices to purchase orders and goods receipts before they reach Tally
The invoice matching agent reads each supplier invoice, finds the purchase order and goods receipt it belongs to, and checks quantities, rates, GST and the supplier's GSTIN. Clean matches are prepared as purchase vouchers in Tally; differences go to your accounts team with the reason spelled out.

How it is done today
The work before the agent
A hardware and electricals distributor in Rajkot receives around forty supplier invoices a day by email and courier. An accountant opens each PDF, finds the purchase order in Tally, checks the goods receipt from the godown register and compares every line by hand. Short supplies and rate changes are often noticed after payment, and GST input credit is held up when the invoice does not match what the supplier filed.
What the invoice matching agent takes on
Reads every invoice, however it arrives
Picks invoices up from the accounts inbox and scanned courier copies, and reads supplier name, GSTIN, invoice number, date, HSN codes, line items, rates, CGST, SGST or IGST and totals.
Does the three way match
Finds the purchase order in Tally and the goods receipt note, then compares quantity received, quantity billed and the agreed rate line by line, within the tolerance you set.
Checks the tax details
Confirms the GSTIN is the one on the supplier master, that intra state invoices carry CGST and SGST and inter state ones carry IGST, and that the tax arithmetic is right.
Prepares the voucher or explains the gap
For a clean match it prepares the purchase voucher in Tally for approval. For a mismatch it writes a short note, such as '20 cartons billed, 18 received', and sends it to the right person.

Where a person decides
Nothing is posted to Tally without a person. A named approver, for example Bhavesh, the accounts manager, reviews the prepared vouchers in one batch each evening and decides on every exception: accept a debit note, call the supplier, or hold payment. The agent never releases a payment.
Limits it works within
- Prepares vouchers only; posting and payment need a person's approval
- Treats any GSTIN that differs from the supplier master as an exception, never a match
- Uses only the rate tolerance and quantity tolerance your finance head sets
- Never edits a purchase order or a supplier master record
- Keeps a trail of each invoice, its match result and who approved it

Questions
About the invoice matching agent
Do we need to change how we use Tally?
No. The agent reads your existing purchase orders and ledgers and prepares vouchers in the format your accountant already uses. If your purchase orders are not entered in Tally today, we start by fixing that, because there is nothing to match against otherwise.
How does it handle partial deliveries?
It matches what was received against what was billed. If a supplier bills for the full order after a part delivery, the agent flags the difference and suggests a debit note for the approver to decide.
Can it check invoices against what the supplier filed for GST?
Yes, if you give it the data your team downloads from the GST portal. It then flags invoices in your books that the supplier has not reported, so you can follow up before claiming input credit.

AI for Tally users: what an agent can and cannot do
Most Indian businesses keep their books in Tally, and most of the repetitive accounts work happens around it. An agent helps a Tally team most with reading documents, reconciling and answering questions from the books. It connects through Tally's own interfaces and leaves posting and payments to people.
